In October 2024, the Menai team turned our attention to supporting our local sports clubs. Community sport plays a huge role in Menai Bridge bringing people together, keeping kids active and creating opportunities, so we decided to do what we could to give back.
We organised a full day football tournament at Bangor City Stadium and it turned into a fantastic community event. There was football running all day, bouncy castles fir the kids and plenty of energy on and off the pitch. Thanks to everyone who came along, took part or even supported the event in some way, we raised an incredible £10,000.
The money was split between four local teams. Menai Bridge Cricket Club, Menai Bridge Rugby Club, Menai Bridge Netball Team and the Menai Bride Tigers. Each of these clubs plays a huge part in the community, offering coaches, matches and a positive place for all age groups. The funds will go towards helping them maintain equipment, cover running costs or supporting youth development.
