Making Better Use of Renewable Energy at Home
This North Wales homeowner wanted to generate more of their own electricity, reduce their reliance on the grid and make better use of the energy produced throughout the day.
With a large flat roof offering plenty of usable space, our team designed a tailored solar and battery storage system to suit the property and the household’s energy needs.
The completed system combines 18 high-performance solar panels, a three-phase inverter and 13.6kWh of battery storage, helping the homeowner generate, store and use more renewable electricity at home.
The Project
The property’s flat roof provided an excellent opportunity for solar generation but required a carefully designed mounting system to ensure the panels were positioned securely and at a suitable angle.
Our team assessed the available roof space, the property’s electricity requirements and the existing electrical supply before designing a system that would deliver reliable long-term performance.
Rather than allowing surplus solar energy to be exported immediately, the addition of battery storage enables more of the electricity generated during daylight hours to be saved for use later in the day or when household demand increases.

Solar Designed for a Flat Roof
Flat roofs can provide excellent opportunities for solar installations when the system is designed correctly.
A specialist mounting system was used to securely position the panels at an appropriate angle, helping maximise exposure to daylight while maintaining suitable spacing between each row.
The layout was carefully planned around the available roof area to create a neat finish and make effective use of the space without compromising the performance of the system.
The Completed Installation
The finished installation provides the homeowner with a tailored renewable energy system designed around the property, available roof space and household electricity requirements.
By combining an 8.1kW solar PV system with substantial battery storage, the property is now better equipped to generate and store renewable electricity while reducing its reliance on electricity purchased from the grid.
The flat roof mounting system also provides a secure, practical and unobtrusive solution that makes effective use of an otherwise underutilised area of the property.
