These properties can be more exposed to fluctuating fuel prices and often face higher heating costs.<\/p>\n<p>The temporary grant increase is designed to help more homeowners make the switch from fossil fuels to low-carbon heating systems, reducing reliance on oil and LPG while making heat pumps more affordable.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2>Who Could Benefit?<\/h2>\n<p>The increased \u00a39,000 grant is expected to be available for:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Properties in England and Wales<\/li>\n<li>Homes and small businesses currently heated by oil or LPG<\/li>\n<li>Air source heat pump installations<\/li>\n<li>Ground source heat pump installations<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Properties heated by mains gas can still access the Boiler Upgrade Scheme but will continue to receive the standard \u00a37,500 grant. Air-to-air heat pumps and biomass boilers are not included in the temporary uplift.<\/p>\n<h2>\u00a0<\/h2>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2>What Does This Mean for Homeowners?<\/h2>\n<p>For many households, the Boiler Upgrade Scheme already provides significant support towards the cost of installing a heat pump.
